## What it does

The server links your coding assistant with Apple Music via seven focused tools. The model can queue songs, adjust volume, trigger AirPlay output, and build new playlists. It queries the local desktop player or the online service API.

Access scopes are regulated with the `--level` flag. The base `music` tier interacts strictly with macOS Music.app without touching the network. Switching to `api` or `web` brings catalog access and recommendation feeds to Windows and Linux. Queue management relies on a desktop browser session. On non-Mac systems, Google Chrome is mandatory.

Running the tool requires Python 3.10 or newer. Without running `applemusic-mcp login`, cloud catalog actions will fail outside macOS.
