# apify-mcp-server

Connect an AI assistant to Apify Actors to collect data from websites, social platforms, search engines, and maps. Use it when a task calls for a ready-made scraper or crawler.

## What it does

The server exposes Apify Actors as tools an AI assistant can use for specific jobs. Actors can extract posts from social profiles, contact details from Google Maps, search results, or page content. Some web-fetching tools can render JavaScript and handle anti-bot protection.

Connect over HTTPS with OAuth, or send an Apify token in the `Authorization: Bearer <APIFY_TOKEN>` header. For a local stdio setup, run `npx @apify/actors-mcp-server` and set the `APIFY_TOKEN` environment variable. The hosted server supports schema inference for structured Actor results; that feature is unavailable with local stdio.

For Claude Code, add the HTTPS server with one command. Local stdio requires an Apify token.
