## What it does

The server exposes Frankfurter API data to an agent, including current exchange rates, historical values, and time-series results. It can connect to Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf (Devin Desktop), Cline, Zed, and Gemini CLI through an HTTP MCP endpoint.

A local setup uses Python 3.12+, `just`, and `uv`. The project can be installed with `just install`; `just install-all` adds dependencies used for development and testing. The API endpoint can be changed with `FRANKFURTER_API_URL`, including when the Frankfurter API is self-hosted.

Responses are cached with LRU handling for stable lookups and TTL handling for values that change. Binding an HTTP server to `0.0.0.0` creates a security risk, so that setting belongs only in demo environments.
