## What it does

This service links development assistants directly to blockchain networks via `https://mcp.alchemy.com/mcp`. It exposes token valuations, transaction traces, transfer logs, and NFT information across 100+ distributed ledgers, including Solana DAS endpoints.

Alchemy retired its local npm distribution `@alchemy/mcp-server`, setting its shutdown date for September 30, 2026. The new cloud endpoint handles Streamable HTTP requests natively. You do not need to store an `ALCHEMY_API_KEY` in environment variables anymore, because authentication happens via browser OAuth using your Alchemy profile.

## Requirements

claude mcp add --transport http mcp https://mcp.alchemy.com/mcp
```
### Codex
**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
codex mcp add alchemy-mcp-server --url https://mcp.alchemy.com/mcp
```
### Cursor
**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
        }
    }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
gemini mcp add -t http alchemy-mcp-server https://mcp.alchemy.com/mcp
```

## When to use it
- inspect wallet token balances and incoming transfer logs
- simulate transaction execution before broadcasting to mainnet
- retrieve NFT asset data using Solana DAS methods
- inspect EVM call traces for failing smart contracts

## Example prompts
- Check recent ERC-20 transfers for address `0x...`
- Simulate this contract interaction on Polygon and show trace logs
- Fetch NFT collection details using Solana DAS
