## What it does

akb is an MCP server for shared agent memory. It uses a PostgreSQL-native revision store for documents, tables, and files, then combines semantic retrieval with keyword search. A URI graph records relations between objects, so an agent can follow linked context as well as search terms.

The server exposes operations for writing, finding, browsing, and inspecting relations. The repository also ships plugins for Claude Code and Codex: `akb-wiki` imports sources and answers from the vault with citations, `akb-sessions` turns a coding session into structured notes, and `akb-claude-code` connects session hooks to AKB memory. Setup requires `AKB_MCP_URL` and `AKB_PAT`; without the server URL and token, the client cannot be configured.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)
- Environment variables: `AKB_MCP_URL`, `AKB_PAT` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.
