## What it does

The server runs remotely over HTTP at `https://api.aistrail.com/mcp`, removing the need for any local scripts. It functions strictly in read-only mode. Live vessel lookups by IMO or MMSI, nearby ship queries, and port searches by UN/LOCODE work immediately without an account.

Historical route tracks, port activity logs, and sanctions checks against OFAC, UK, or EU lists require an API token sent in the authorization header. These archive tools consume credits from your AIS Trail account. You cannot use this data for vessel navigation.
