## What it does

The server offers scenarios for common agent stalls: repeated failed fixes, tangled reasoning, losing sight of the original goal, or letting a task grow beyond its scope. Each protocol helps the agent restate the goal, review what has failed, and choose a different approach.

Core scenarios are available as direct MCP tools. Extended ones are found with `list_scenarios`, then retrieved with `get_prompt`. Both `static` and `sampling` modes are supported. Extended scenarios take an extra discovery step; core tools can be called directly.

In Claude Code, add the server with `claude mcp add` and run it through `npx`. Listed platforms also include Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf (Devin Desktop), Cline, Zed, and Gemini CLI.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)

```bash
claude mcp add agent-never-give-up -- npx -y agent-never-give-up-mcp
```

### Codex

**Platform CLI**
```bash
codex mcp add agent-never-give-up -- npx -y agent-never-give-up-mcp
```

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
            "args": [
                "-y",
                "agent-never-give-up-mcp"
            ]
        }
    }
}
```

### GitHub Copilot

            ]
        }
    }
}
```
### Gemini CLI
**Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini mcp add agent-never-give-up npx -y agent-never-give-up-mcp
```
## When to use it
- break out of circular reasoning
- review repeated failed bug fixes
- clarify missing requirements
- recover the original task goal
- spot changes that exceed the task scope
## Example prompts
- My reasoning keeps going in circles. Help me find a different approach.
- Several attempts to fix this bug have failed. Review them and suggest a new strategy.
- Check whether these changes still match the original task scope.
