## What it does

Agent Email gives MCP-compatible agents tools for working with a mailbox. They can list and read messages, search conversations, create or edit drafts, reply, and send email. For Outlook, the server can also label messages, change their read state, and move them between folders.

Sending is gated by an allowlist, so the agent cannot send mail until you configure permitted recipients. Deletion is disabled by default and requires explicit opt-in. Start `npx -y email-agent-mcp` to open the setup wizard for OAuth and mailbox selection. In Claude Code, add the server with `claude mcp add email-agent-mcp -- npx -y email-agent-mcp`.

## When to use it
- search a mailbox for a particular conversation
- prepare a reply without sending it
- send mail only to approved recipients
- mark messages as read or move them to folders
- apply labels to Outlook messages

## Example prompts
- Find the conversation about the release and show me its messages.
- Draft a reply to this email, but leave it unsent.
- Mark this message as read and move it to the processed folder.
