## What it does

agent-discover runs as a local daemon that searches the official MCP Registry along with npm and PyPI. Before anything is installed, it displays the command or URL, package version, provenance details, and required variable names. The action waits for your approval.

Servers can be turned on or off while a session is running. In `native` mode, their tools remain available to the host’s own tool search; `proxy` mode routes calls through eight meta tools. Secrets go into the OS keychain, tool definitions are pinned by hashes, and a changed tool set sends the server to quarantine.

Node.js `22` or newer is required. The Claude Code mod needs Claude Code `2.1.289` or newer, while older builds retain the skills and MCP tools.

## Example prompts
- Find an MCP server that can work with PDF files and show the available install plan.
- Install the selected server only after I approve its command and provenance.
- List the installed servers and enable the one needed for this task.
