# 402cron

402cron schedules signed requests to an HTTPS endpoint and retries timeouts or unreachable hosts. An agent can manage scheduled tasks through its MCP server.

## What it does

Use 402cron to create scheduled requests to an HTTPS destination. Each delivery carries an HMAC-SHA256 signature, so your receiver can validate it; deliveries are at least once, and the same delivery ID can appear again. Your handler should therefore recognise repeats. Tasks can pause after repeated failures and be resumed with a request.

Management requires a token provided after an x402 purchase, paid in USDC on Base. The MCP tools `get_pricing`, `get_docs` and `get_service_status` work without that token; payment happens separately over HTTP. Destinations must use `https://`. Cron schedules use UTC and have a one-minute minimum interval. A delivery response must arrive within 2 seconds; timeouts and unreachable hosts are retried, while `4xx` and `5xx` responses are not.

The repository includes Node.js and Python receiver examples, plus a client example that buys a trial and creates a schedule. Credits count delivery attempts rather than dollars, so failed attempts affect the balance too. That matters when estimating how many deliveries a purchased pack will cover.

## Requirements
- Remote server: `https://402cron.com/mcp`

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
claude mcp add --transport http 402cron https://402cron.com/mcp
```

### Codex

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
codex mcp add 402cron --url https://402cron.com/mcp
```

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "402cron": {
            "url": "https://402cron.com/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### GitHub Copilot

**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "402cron": {
            "type": "http",
            "url": "https://402cron.com/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
gemini mcp add -t http 402cron https://402cron.com/mcp
```

## When to use it
- schedule HTTP requests to an HTTPS endpoint
- verify incoming requests with their signatures
- retry delivery after timeouts or an unreachable host
- detect repeated deliveries by delivery ID
- pause and resume tasks after repeated errors

## Example prompts
- Connect the 402cron MCP server and show me the available pricing.
- Create a scheduled task that sends data to my HTTPS endpoint.
- Explain how my receiver should verify a delivery signature and handle duplicates.
