## What it does

3D Print Log is an MCP server that exposes the 3dprintlog.com API to your coding agent. Ask it to record a print job with its duration, material use, quality score and photos, or to manage your printer inventory and filament stock with costs attached.

The server runs at `https://api.3dprintlog.com/mcp`. Two auth paths exist: the web app uses Auth0 JWT Bearer tokens, while integrations send an `X-Api-Key` header. Prints can be grouped into projects with image galleries, and slicer settings come in from Cura, OrcaSlicer, PrusaSlicer and Bambu Studio. OctoPrint and Klipper/Moonraker webhooks log jobs on their own.

The repo is AGPL-3.0 and holds an ASP.NET Core backend on SQL Server with Azure Blob Storage. You need an API key from the service, otherwise the integration fails at authentication. Running the backend locally is a separate job: the frontend sits in another repository and most feature work touches both.

## Requirements
- Remote server: `https://api.3dprintlog.com/mcp`

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
claude mcp add --transport http printlog https://api.3dprintlog.com/mcp
```

### Codex

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
codex mcp add 3d-print-log --url https://api.3dprintlog.com/mcp
```

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "3d-print-log": {
            "url": "https://api.3dprintlog.com/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### GitHub Copilot

**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "3d-print-log": {
            "type": "http",
            "url": "https://api.3dprintlog.com/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
gemini mcp add -t http 3d-print-log https://api.3dprintlog.com/mcp
```

## When to use it
- log a print with material usage and a quality rating
- pull per-printer statistics
- check filament stock and what it cost
- group related prints into a project gallery
- look up an answer in the 3dprintlog.com docs

## Example prompts
- Log this vase print in 3D Print Log: 4 hours, 120 grams of PLA, quality 8 out of 10.
- Show me the stats for my Voron 2.4 over the last month.
- How much filament do I have left, and what did the last print cost in electricity?
