## What it does

The `/orchestration/resume` command restores active task orchestrations. It displays overall progress, current agent assignments, blocked dependencies, and local git status.

State persistence relies directly on `EXECUTION-TRACKER.md`, `TASK-STATUS-TRACKER.yaml`, individual task files, and Git. If tracker files are absent from the workspace, the command cannot rebuild the project workflow.

Arguments let you resume the most recent orchestration with `--latest`, claim a specific task via `--pickup`, or output handoff notes for another developer with `--handoff`.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **claude-code-templates**
```bash
npx claude-code-templates@latest --command orchestration/resume
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.claude/commands/orchestration-resume.md` — The built-in /resume overrides a file with the same name, so the file is renamed. Call it with /orchestration-resume. For all projects use ~/.claude/commands/

### Codex

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.codex/prompts/resume.md` — Call it with /prompts:resume. Codex marks this format deprecated in favour of skills

### GitHub Copilot

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/prompts/resume.prompt.md`

### Gemini CLI

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.gemini/commands/resume.toml` — Gemini stores commands as TOML: the prompt text goes into the prompt field

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/davila7/claude-code-templates/tree/HEAD/cli-tool/components/commands/orchestration/resume.md

## When to use it
- restore orchestration state after an interrupted session
- inspect blockers and unmet dependencies
- claim the next task using `--pickup`
- generate a handoff summary for another developer

## Example prompts
- /orchestration/resume --latest
- /orchestration/resume --pickup TASK-013
- /orchestration/resume --since "last week"
