## What it does

Run `/task-report` with a report type to create an executive summary, sprint report, standup, or analysis of risks, dependencies, and agent workload. Options let you choose a project, time period, and output format such as Markdown, HTML, or PDF.

The command reads data from `TASK-STATUS-TRACKER.yaml` files and includes completed tasks in historical metrics. Time calculations use business hours by default. Charts need Unicode support in the terminal, so their display depends on the terminal environment.

To install it in Claude Code, run `npx claude-code-templates@latest --command orchestration/report`. The command file is `.claude/commands/report.md`.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **claude-code-templates**
```bash
npx claude-code-templates@latest --command orchestration/report
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.claude/commands/report.md` — Call it with /report. For all projects use ~/.claude/commands/

### Codex

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.codex/prompts/report.md` — Call it with /prompts:report. Codex marks this format deprecated in favour of skills

### GitHub Copilot

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/prompts/report.prompt.md`

### Gemini CLI

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.gemini/commands/report.toml` — Gemini stores commands as TOML: the prompt text goes into the prompt field

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/davila7/claude-code-templates/tree/HEAD/cli-tool/components/commands/orchestration/report.md

## When to use it
- summarize task progress and blockers
- compare sprint metrics across periods
- trace dependencies and identify bottlenecks
- review agent workload and performance
- format a status report for a chosen output

## Example prompts
- Create a standup covering completed, ongoing, and blocked work: `/task-report standup`.
- Prepare a sprint report with velocity and burndown metrics: `/task-report sprint --include-velocity --include-burndown`.
- Show the project dependencies as a graph: `/task-report dependencies --visual`.
