## What it does

This command runs the Google Workspace CLI workflow. Pass a Gmail message ID with `--message-id`; you can also choose a task list with `--tasklist`. The default list is `@default`. The email subject becomes the task title, and its snippet is saved as a note.

You need `gws` installed and authentication configured; check the latter with `gws auth status`. The command also requires `../gws-shared/SKILL.md`, which provides shared authentication and flag guidance. If the file is missing, the instructions say to create it with `gws generate-skills`. It creates a new task, so get the user's confirmation before running it.

## Requirements
- Works with: Google Workspace, Gmail

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **claude-code-templates**
```bash
npx claude-code-templates@latest --command google-workspace/gws-workflow-email-to-task
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.claude/commands/gws-workflow-email-to-task.md` — Call it with /gws-workflow-email-to-task. For all projects use ~/.claude/commands/

### Codex

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.codex/prompts/gws-workflow-email-to-task.md` — Call it with /prompts:gws-workflow-email-to-task. Codex marks this format deprecated in favour of skills

### GitHub Copilot

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/prompts/gws-workflow-email-to-task.prompt.md`

### Gemini CLI

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.gemini/commands/gws-workflow-email-to-task.toml` — Gemini stores commands as TOML: the prompt text goes into the prompt field

## When to use it
- turn a Gmail message into a Google Tasks entry
- use an email snippet as the task note
- choose a task list with `--tasklist`
- check `gws` authentication before running the workflow

## Example prompts
- Create a task from Gmail message `MSG_ID`: `/gws-workflow-email-to-task --message-id MSG_ID`
- Add message `MSG_ID` to task list `LIST_ID`: `/gws-workflow-email-to-task --message-id MSG_ID --tasklist LIST_ID`
