## What it does

The command builds a Google Sheets append operation and runs it with `gws`. Pass simple values with `--values` for one row, or provide a JSON array with `--json-values` to insert multiple rows. Claude Code must ask the user to confirm before making this write.

You need Google Workspace CLI (`gws`) installed and authentication configured; check it with `gws auth status`. The command checks available options and the method schema before execution. Shared authentication and security guidance lives in `../gws-shared/SKILL.md`. Without `gws` and a valid authentication setup, the spreadsheet write cannot run.

## Requirements
- Works with: Google Workspace

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **claude-code-templates**
```bash
npx claude-code-templates@latest --command google-workspace/gws-sheets-append
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.claude/commands/gws-sheets-append.md` — Call it with /gws-sheets-append. For all projects use ~/.claude/commands/

### Codex

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.codex/prompts/gws-sheets-append.md` — Call it with /prompts:gws-sheets-append. Codex marks this format deprecated in favour of skills

### GitHub Copilot

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/prompts/gws-sheets-append.prompt.md`

### Gemini CLI

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.gemini/commands/gws-sheets-append.toml` — Gemini stores commands as TOML: the prompt text goes into the prompt field

## When to use it
- append one row to a Google Sheet
- insert multiple rows from a JSON array
- inspect method parameters before writing
- check Google Workspace CLI authentication

## Example prompts
- Use `/gws-sheets-append` to add `Alice,100,true` to spreadsheet `ID`.
- Use `/gws-sheets-append` to insert `[["a","b"],["c","d"]]` into spreadsheet `ID`.
- Check `gws` authentication, then append a row to spreadsheet `ID`.
