## What it does

\`gws-drive` routes requests to Google Drive through the Google Workspace CLI, `gws`. Its listed operations cover files and shared drives, with methods for copying files, checking changes, and handling comments. File uploads have a separate helper command, `+upload`.

Install `gws` and configure authentication before use; check its status with `gws auth status`. The command also relies on `../gws-shared/SKILL.md` for authentication and security guidance. If that file is missing, the instructions point to `gws generate-skills`. Some methods require a `fields` parameter, and only approvers can list access proposals for a file.

## Requirements
- Works with: Google Workspace, Google Drive

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **claude-code-templates**
```bash
npx claude-code-templates@latest --command google-workspace/gws-drive
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.claude/commands/gws-drive.md` — Call it with /gws-drive. For all projects use ~/.claude/commands/

### Codex

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.codex/prompts/gws-drive.md` — Call it with /prompts:gws-drive. Codex marks this format deprecated in favour of skills

### GitHub Copilot

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/prompts/gws-drive.prompt.md`

### Gemini CLI

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.gemini/commands/gws-drive.toml` — Gemini stores commands as TOML: the prompt text goes into the prompt field

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/davila7/claude-code-templates/tree/HEAD/cli-tool/components/commands/google-workspace/gws-drive.md

## When to use it
- copy a file in Google Drive
- list the user's shared drives
- check changes in Drive
- add a comment to a file

## Example prompts
- Copy this file in Google Drive and update its metadata.
- Show me my shared drives.
