## What it does

The command maps your project against four sets of rules: GDPR, HIPAA, SOC2 and PCI-DSS. It first decides which ones actually apply to your case and sorts them by priority. Then it walks through the controls — consent handling, right to erasure, encryption, access logs.

Inside are Python classes you can adapt. `ComplianceAnalyzer` holds the regulation definitions and matches them to your business context. `GDPRCompliance` bundles consent management and erasure request handling: a consent record with timestamp, IP and policy version, plus a service that removes a user's data. Treat it as a reference for what to build, not code to paste.

One caveat: the command gives recommendations, it does not take legal responsibility for compliance. If you handle EU resident data or health information, have a lawyer review the output anyway.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Plugin marketplace**
In the agent chat (not a shell):
```text
/plugin marketplace add wshobson/agents
```
In the agent chat (not a shell):
```text
/plugin install security-compliance@claude-code-workflows
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.claude/commands/compliance-check.md` — Call it with /compliance-check. For all projects use ~/.claude/commands/

### Codex

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.codex/prompts/compliance-check.md` — Call it with /prompts:compliance-check. Codex marks this format deprecated in favour of skills

### GitHub Copilot

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/prompts/compliance-check.prompt.md`

### Gemini CLI

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.gemini/commands/compliance-check.toml` — Gemini stores commands as TOML: the prompt text goes into the prompt field

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/wshobson/agents/tree/HEAD/plugins/security-compliance/commands/compliance-check.md

## When to use it
- figure out which regulations apply to a product
- build a control checklist for GDPR or HIPAA
- design a flow for user data erasure requests
- keep a consent log with a full change history
- assess readiness for a SOC2 or PCI-DSS audit

## Example prompts
- check which GDPR and SOC2 requirements apply to our SaaS
- draft an implementation plan for HIPAA controls
- show what we're missing for a PCI-DSS audit
