## What it does

The command takes a business context or one of three flags: `--market-expansion`, `--product-launch`, `--funding-scenarios`. It then splits the situation into five or six timelines: baseline, optimistic, pessimistic, disruption, plus a constraint pass over resources and regulation. What comes back is a matrix with probability-weighted outcomes, recommendations and a contingency plan.

The analytics side is spelled out: Monte Carlo simulations, sensitivity analysis, decision trees. Tool access is narrow — `Read`, `Write`, `Edit`, `WebSearch`. So market data gets pulled from the web, while your financial model and docs are read straight from the project.

One thing to watch: feed it vague input and the scenarios come back vague too. The command pulls context from `$ARGUMENTS` or from documentation such as `README.md`, so write down the numbers and market conditions first.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **claude-code-templates**
```bash
npx claude-code-templates@latest --command simulation/business-scenario-explorer
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.claude/commands/business-scenario-explorer.md` — Call it with /business-scenario-explorer. For all projects use ~/.claude/commands/

### Codex

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.codex/prompts/business-scenario-explorer.md` — Call it with /prompts:business-scenario-explorer. Codex marks this format deprecated in favour of skills

### GitHub Copilot

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/prompts/business-scenario-explorer.prompt.md`

### Gemini CLI

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.gemini/commands/business-scenario-explorer.toml` — Gemini stores commands as TOML: the prompt text goes into the prompt field

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/davila7/claude-code-templates/tree/HEAD/cli-tool/components/commands/simulation/business-scenario-explorer.md

## When to use it
- break a product launch into scenarios with different likelihoods
- size up the risks of entering a new market before spending
- compare the fallout of different funding rounds
- spot resource and regulatory limits that break the plan
- draft a response plan for when the baseline scenario fails

## Example prompts
- /business-scenario-explorer --product-launch: we run a SaaS for logistics and are shipping an analytics module
- /business-scenario-explorer --market-expansion: entering Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan on a tight budget
- /business-scenario-explorer --funding-scenarios: weighing seed against bridge, need a risk matrix

# Business Scenario Explorer

Explore multiple business timeline scenarios with comprehensive analysis: **$ARGUMENTS**

## Current Business Context

- Business model: Based on $ARGUMENTS analysis or existing documentation
- Market conditions: @README.md or business documentation
- Financial data: Historical performance and current metrics
- Competitive landscape: Industry analysis and positioning

## Task

Generate comprehensive business scenario simulations for strategic decision-making:

**Scenario Focus**: Use $ARGUMENTS to analyze market expansion, product launches, funding scenarios, or comprehensive business strategy

**Scenario Framework**:
1. **Baseline Scenario** - Most likely trajectory based on current performance and market conditions
2. **Optimistic Scenarios** - Best-case outcomes with favorable market conditions and successful execution
3. **Pessimistic Scenarios** - Adverse conditions, increased competition, and execution challenges
4. **Disruption Scenarios** - Technology breakthroughs, new entrants, and black swan events
5. **Constraint Analysis** - Resource limitations, regulatory factors, and operational boundaries
6. **Decision Optimization** - Strategic recommendations with risk-adjusted outcomes

**Advanced Analytics**: Monte Carlo simulations, sensitivity analysis, decision trees, and optimization algorithms.

**Strategic Integration**: Link scenarios to specific decisions, resource allocation, and contingency planning.

**Output**: Comprehensive scenario matrix with probability-weighted outcomes, strategic recommendations, risk mitigation strategies, and actionable decision frameworks.
