## What it does

\`ai-assistant` helps plan an assistant as a set of connected parts: NLU, dialogue management, response generation, context handling, and an integration layer. Its outlined flow covers intent and entity work, sentiment checks, conversation states, and actions selected from the current context.

The command also lays out an NLP pipeline that tokenizes messages, creates embeddings, and runs several analysis tasks in parallel. The sample intent classifier uses a `0.65` confidence threshold, so that value needs review against the data used by the project.

The command is listed for Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor. In Claude Code, setup uses the marketplace and then adds `.claude/commands/ai-assistant.md`.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Plugin marketplace**
In the agent chat (not a shell):
```text
/plugin marketplace add wshobson/agents
```
In the agent chat (not a shell):
```text
/plugin install llm-application-dev@claude-code-workflows
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.claude/commands/ai-assistant.md` — Call it with /ai-assistant. For all projects use ~/.claude/commands/

### Codex

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.codex/prompts/ai-assistant.md` — Call it with /prompts:ai-assistant. Codex marks this format deprecated in favour of skills

### GitHub Copilot

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/prompts/ai-assistant.prompt.md`

### Gemini CLI

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.gemini/commands/ai-assistant.toml` — Gemini stores commands as TOML: the prompt text goes into the prompt field

## When to use it
- design an AI assistant architecture
- parse messages into intents and entities
- map dialogue state transitions
- add sentiment and language analysis
- connect assistant replies to actions

## Example prompts
- Run `/ai-assistant chatbot` to design a chatbot architecture.
- Run `/ai-assistant customer-support [options]` for a support assistant.
- Build an NLU flow for this assistant with context and dialogue state handling.
