## What it does

startup-analyst handles analysis for early-stage companies, including market sizing, financial scenarios, competitor research, and hiring plans. It can also help prepare investor materials and choose metrics for a business model. Its analysis documents assumptions and checks conclusions against benchmarks.

The subagent first gathers context about the company stage and business model. When fresh market information is needed, it can search the web, then apply relevant analytical frameworks. Outputs may include tables, cited sources, and suggested next steps. Financial results depend on the assumptions supplied.

Claude Code installation uses the plugin marketplace. For Codex and Cursor, the listed agent files are `.codex/agents/startup-analyst.toml` and `.cursor/agents/startup-analyst.md`.
