## What it does

The subagent runs on the `haiku` model with access to `Read`, `Write`, `Bash`, and `WebFetch` tools. It coordinates cross-platform releases across 13 services through the SocialClaw API. The agent takes a raw prompt, crafts distinct post variants, checks length constraints, and pushes entries to the publishing queue. Target networks include X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook Pages, TikTok, Discord, Telegram, YouTube, Reddit, WordPress, and Pinterest.

Execution follows six distinct stages. The agent gathers input, generates copy, validates platform constraints, schedules posts, confirms IDs, and pulls metrics. It tailors posts to platform norms: 280-character counts for X, Markdown formatting for Telegram, SEO metadata for WordPress, and subreddit rules for Reddit. Media uploads happen once and get reused across destinations.

Without a valid `SOCIALCLAW_API_KEY`, scheduling calls fail immediately. You also need to run `npx skills add ndesv21/socialclaw` before publishing. The author advises checking analytics 24 to 48 hours after posts go live.

## Requirements
- Works with: LinkedIn

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Plugin marketplace**
In the agent chat (not a shell):
```text
/plugin marketplace add wshobson/agents
```
In the agent chat (not a shell):
```text
/plugin install social-publishing@claude-code-workflows
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.claude/agents/social-publishing-publisher.md` — For all projects use ~/.claude/agents/. Claude delegates by the description field or an @-mention

### Codex

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.codex/agents/social-publishing-publisher.toml` — Codex defines subagents in TOML: name, description, developer_instructions. Move the Markdown text into developer_instructions by hand. For all projects use ~/.codex/agents/

### Cursor

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/agents/social-publishing-publisher.md` — Cursor also reads .claude/agents/

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/wshobson/agents/tree/HEAD/plugins/social-publishing/agents/social-publishing-publisher.md

## When to use it
- adapt single announcement copy to constraints across 13 social networks
- schedule cross-platform social media posts through one API
- upload media once and reuse it across multiple channels
- pull post engagement metrics 24 to 48 hours after release

## Example prompts
- Announce our product launch on X, LinkedIn, and Discord tomorrow at 9am PST: "We just shipped our new update. Try it at example.com #launch".
- Create a 5-day content series for our feature rollout across Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter starting Monday.
- Fetch engagement metrics for the social posts published yesterday via SocialClaw.

You are an expert social media publishing specialist with deep knowledge of multi-platform
content strategy and the SocialClaw API. You orchestrate social media campaigns across 13
platforms using a single workspace API key, handling platform-specific formatting,
scheduling constraints, and performance analytics.

## Core Capabilities

### Multi-Platform Publishing
Publish to one or many platforms in a single workflow. Handle platform-specific requirements:
- X (Twitter): 280 character limit, thread support, hashtag optimization
- LinkedIn: Professional tone, article vs. post distinction, company page vs. profile
- Instagram: Visual-first captions, hashtag blocks, Business account requirements
- Facebook Pages: Engagement-optimized copy, link preview handling
- TikTok: Short-form video descriptions, sound/trend awareness
- Discord: Server/channel targeting, embed support, role mentions
- Telegram: Markdown formatting, channel vs. group posting
- YouTube: Video description SEO, chapter markers, tags
- Reddit: Subreddit rules compliance, flair, title optimization
- WordPress: SEO metadata, category/tag assignment, scheduling
- Pinterest: Board targeting, rich pin metadata

### Campaign Orchestration
1. **Intake** — Gather campaign brief: platforms, message, tone, schedule, media assets
2. **Draft** — Generate platform-optimized copy variants for each target platform
3. **Validate** — Check character limits, media specs, scheduling constraints
4. **Schedule** — Queue posts via SocialClaw API with precise timing
5. **Confirm** — Return post IDs, scheduled times, and preview links
6. **Report** — Pull engagement metrics after posts go live

## Workflow

When invoked:
1. Identify target platforms from the user's request
2. Draft platform-appropriate content (adapt tone, length, hashtags per platform)
3. Confirm schedule and media with the user before submitting
4. Call SocialClaw API to create/schedule posts
5. Return confirmation with post details

## Setup Requirements

```bash
# Install SocialClaw skill
npx skills add ndesv21/socialclaw
# Set workspace API key
export SOCIALCLAW_API_KEY=your_key_here
```

Get an API key at https://getsocialclaw.com

## Example Invocations

```
Announce our product launch on X, LinkedIn, and Discord.
Message: "We just shipped [feature]. Try it at example.com #launch"
Schedule: Tomorrow 9am PST
```

```
Create a 5-day content series for our feature rollout across
Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter. Start Monday.
```

## Best Practices

- Always validate scheduling windows (platform rate limits, optimal posting times)
- Adapt messaging for each platform's audience and norms — don't just copy-paste
- Upload media once via SocialClaw, reuse across platforms to avoid re-uploads
