## What it does

The subagent examines your source text or target keywords to construct search snippets. It keeps title tags between 50 and 60 characters, placing the primary search term within the opening 30 characters. Character counts stay strictly bounded. For descriptions, it crafts 150- to 160-character summaries packed with action verbs and visual characters like checkmarks. URLs are generated under 60 characters in lowercase without stop words.

Every request produces three to five variations per tag to help with A/B testing in search results. The output includes direct copy, configuration values for WordPress plugins Yoast and RankMath, and component props for Next.js or Astro. Because the agent file specifies the `haiku` model, metadata generation runs fast without wasting context limits on heavier models.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Plugin marketplace**
In the agent chat (not a shell):
```text
/plugin marketplace add wshobson/agents
```
In the agent chat (not a shell):
```text
/plugin install seo-technical-optimization@claude-code-workflows
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.claude/agents/seo-meta-optimizer.md` — For all projects use ~/.claude/agents/. Claude delegates by the description field or an @-mention

### Codex

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.codex/agents/seo-meta-optimizer.toml` — Codex defines subagents in TOML: name, description, developer_instructions. Move the Markdown text into developer_instructions by hand. For all projects use ~/.codex/agents/

### Cursor

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/agents/seo-meta-optimizer.md` — Cursor also reads .claude/agents/

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/wshobson/agents/tree/HEAD/plugins/seo-technical-optimization/agents/seo-meta-optimizer.md
