## What it does

Power Platform Expert is a GitHub Copilot subagent focused on Microsoft Power Platform development. It covers Code Apps, canvas apps, model-driven apps, Power Automate, Dataverse and connectors. Reach for it when you need to model data, sort out Power Fx, or wire up a connector.

The agent carries guidance on Code Apps: PAC CLI usage, the Power Apps SDK, `vite.config.ts` setup, `package.json` scripts, and a PowerProvider pattern with async initialization. Separate sections cover Dataverse, security, ALM and solution architecture. Responses follow a fixed shape: quick answer, implementation steps, best practices, pitfalls, documentation links.

Code Apps work needs Power Apps Premium, PAC CLI, Node.js LTS and VS Code. Local development runs through `npm run dev`, and auth goes through PAC CLI profiles. Code Apps is still in preview, and things like CSP and Git integration are not supported there — worth checking before you commit to it.

## Install

### GitHub Copilot (native platform)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/agents/power-platform-expert.agent.md`

### Claude Code

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.claude/agents/power-platform-expert.md` — For all projects use ~/.claude/agents/. Claude delegates by the description field or an @-mention. Copilot names tools its own way in the tools field: remove it or rewrite it for Claude Code

### Codex

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.codex/agents/power-platform-expert.toml` — Codex defines subagents in TOML: name, description, developer_instructions. Move the Markdown text into developer_instructions by hand. For all projects use ~/.codex/agents/

### Cursor

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/agents/power-platform-expert.md` — Cursor also reads .claude/agents/

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/github/awesome-copilot/tree/HEAD/agents/power-platform-expert.agent.md

## When to use it
- model Dataverse tables with many-to-many relationships
- set up PAC CLI auth profiles for an environment
- add a connector to a Code App with `pac code add-data-source`
- fix delegation problems in Power Fx formulas
- plan ALM pipelines across dev, test and prod

## Example prompts
- Design Dataverse tables for a ticket system with a many-to-many relationship
- How do I add the SharePoint connector to a Code App and set up auth?
- Check my canvas app Power Fx formulas for delegation issues
