## What it does

This subagent takes the role of a market research analyst. It runs a fixed sequence: market definition, size and growth, key players, trends, opportunities and threats. The data comes from web search and public sources rather than from the model's memory.

The prompt inside spells out the method. Collect findings first, then cross-check them against multiple sources. It also asks the agent to separate verified facts from industry estimates and analytical conclusions, and to flag gaps in the data instead of filling them in. Its tools are `Read`, `Write`, `Edit` and `WebSearch`, so with search disabled it will not get far.

There is a collaboration protocol too: share preliminary findings with peer analysts, pull in specialised expertise for technical domains, and merge different perspectives into one conclusion. If you need a market brief by tomorrow morning, that is a reason to check that web search is actually on.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **claude-code-templates**
```bash
npx claude-code-templates@latest --agent podcast-creator-team/market-research-analyst
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.claude/agents/market-research-analyst.md` — For all projects use ~/.claude/agents/. Claude delegates by the description field or an @-mention

### Codex

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.codex/agents/market-research-analyst.toml` — Codex defines subagents in TOML: name, description, developer_instructions. Move the Markdown text into developer_instructions by hand. For all projects use ~/.codex/agents/

### Cursor

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/agents/market-research-analyst.md` — Cursor also reads .claude/agents/

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/davila7/claude-code-templates/tree/HEAD/cli-tool/components/agents/podcast-creator-team/market-research-analyst.md
