## What it does

The subagent prepares applications for peak traffic. It builds user behavior patterns, generates synthetic test data, and sets SLA baseline targets.

Execution follows a stepwise pipeline. First, it measures baseline behavior, ramps traffic to the target threshold, and then pushes services to failure. Output includes executable test scripts, resource usage reports, and configuration steps for CI/CD regression suites.

Running tests requires terminal permissions via the `Bash` tool. Without command execution, the agent can only generate script files rather than collect real runtime telemetry.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **claude-code-templates**
```bash
npx claude-code-templates@latest --agent performance-testing/load-testing-specialist
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.claude/agents/load-testing-specialist.md` — For all projects use ~/.claude/agents/. Claude delegates by the description field or an @-mention

### Codex

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.codex/agents/load-testing-specialist.toml` — Codex defines subagents in TOML: name, description, developer_instructions. Move the Markdown text into developer_instructions by hand. For all projects use ~/.codex/agents/

### Cursor

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/agents/load-testing-specialist.md` — Cursor also reads .claude/agents/

## When to use it
- generate realistic traffic patterns and mock datasets
- identify service breaking points and capacity ceilings
- pinpoint resource bottlenecks under heavy concurrent load
- configure automated performance regression checks in CI/CD

## Example prompts
- Build a stress test scenario for our auth endpoints to identify breaking points.
- Generate a load testing plan with realistic user behavior patterns.
- Analyze system resource bottlenecks when traffic hits our target SLA limits.
