## What it does

This subagent helps design infrastructure spanning AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI, along with private platforms such as OpenStack and VMware. It can assess hybrid networking and workload placement against cost, performance, and data requirements, then outline ways to move applications between environments.

Its areas include Terraform and OpenTofu, Kubernetes, identity federation, backups, and disaster recovery. It also covers lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and application redesign. The listed platforms give it a broad scope; workload constraints still determine which architecture fits.

## Requirements
- Works with: AWS, Azure

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Plugin marketplace**
In the agent chat (not a shell):
```text
/plugin marketplace add wshobson/agents
```
In the agent chat (not a shell):
```text
/plugin install cloud-infrastructure@claude-code-workflows
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.claude/agents/hybrid-cloud-architect.md` — For all projects use ~/.claude/agents/. Claude delegates by the description field or an @-mention

### Codex

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.codex/agents/hybrid-cloud-architect.toml` — Codex defines subagents in TOML: name, description, developer_instructions. Move the Markdown text into developer_instructions by hand. For all projects use ~/.codex/agents/

### Cursor

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/agents/hybrid-cloud-architect.md` — Cursor also reads .claude/agents/

## When to use it
- design connectivity between public cloud and private infrastructure
- compare workload costs across cloud providers
- place data according to compliance requirements
- plan a phased application migration between environments
- outline disaster recovery across multiple sites

## Example prompts
- Design a hybrid architecture linking AWS and OpenStack over site-to-site VPN.
- Compare AWS, Azure, and GCP for this workload based on cost and latency.
- Create a Kubernetes migration plan with phases and rollback steps.
