## What it does

The subagent attacks difficult bugs with high autonomy. When hitting ambiguous code paths, it makes a reasoned choice, applies modifications, and notes assumptions afterward. Conversation remains concise because the agent prioritizes diffs and command feedback over conversational filler.

Every tool invocation follows a strict preamble covering goal, immediate steps, and access boundaries. The workflow hooks directly into terminal runs, lint diagnostics, and code searches. To prevent accidental data loss, any schema migration or broad file deletion pauses execution until you review a Destructive Action Plan.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **claude-code-templates**
```bash
npx claude-code-templates@latest --agent expert-advisors/gpt-5-beast-mode
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.claude/agents/gpt-5-beast-mode.md` — For all projects use ~/.claude/agents/. Claude delegates by the description field or an @-mention

### Codex

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.codex/agents/gpt-5-beast-mode.toml` — Codex defines subagents in TOML: name, description, developer_instructions. Move the Markdown text into developer_instructions by hand. For all projects use ~/.codex/agents/

### Cursor

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/agents/gpt-5-beast-mode.md` — Cursor also reads .claude/agents/

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/davila7/claude-code-templates/tree/HEAD/cli-tool/components/agents/expert-advisors/gpt-5-beast-mode.md

## When to use it
- isolate broken test suites and iterate on fixes
- navigate unfamiliar codebases using targeted search
- execute terminal commands to verify local builds
- prepare rollback plans before risky refactors

## Example prompts
- Investigate the failing authentication suite and fix the underlying database query.
- Locate all deprecated config usages and update them across the repository.
