## What it does

This subagent steps in once a project grows a mobile side: React Native screens, Flutter modules, or native Swift and Kotlin code. It works through app architecture, picks a pattern (Clean Architecture, MVVM, MVI), sets up state management and plans how data moves between client and server.

Offline-first is a big part of it: SQLite, Realm, Hive, and conflict resolution during sync. Performance gets its own pass — cold start time, memory leaks, list virtualization, image caching. For releases the agent handles CI/CD, code signing, OTA updates and store metadata in App Store Connect and Google Play Console.

One caveat: the source description is truncated, so the full capability list isn't visible here. The model is inherited from the parent session (`model: inherit`), which means behaviour depends on where you run it. On a project with no mobile code, this agent is just an extra hop.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Plugin marketplace**
In the agent chat (not a shell):
```text
/plugin marketplace add wshobson/agents
```
In the agent chat (not a shell):
```text
/plugin install frontend-mobile-development@claude-code-workflows
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.claude/agents/mobile-developer.md` — For all projects use ~/.claude/agents/. Claude delegates by the description field or an @-mention

### Codex

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.codex/agents/mobile-developer.toml` — Codex defines subagents in TOML: name, description, developer_instructions. Move the Markdown text into developer_instructions by hand. For all projects use ~/.codex/agents/

### Cursor

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/agents/mobile-developer.md` — Cursor also reads .claude/agents/

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/wshobson/agents/tree/HEAD/plugins/frontend-mobile-development/agents/mobile-developer.md

## When to use it
- migrate an app to React Native New Architecture
- set up offline sync with conflict resolution
- cut cold start time and track down memory leaks
- build a CI/CD pipeline with automated signing
- prepare store metadata and screenshots

## Example prompts
- Design the architecture for a new React Native screen with offline caching
- Figure out why the Android app takes so long to start and suggest fixes
- Set up Fastlane to push builds to TestFlight automatically
