## What it does

This subagent handles application and pipeline security audits. It walks code against the OWASP Top 10 (2021) and OWASP ASVS, builds threat models with STRIDE and PASTA, and scores risk with CVSS. Authentication gets its own coverage: OAuth 2.0/2.1, OpenID Connect, SAML 2.0, WebAuthn, JWT handling and key management, plus RBAC, ABAC and ReBAC authorization patterns.

What sits inside is a set of practices and tools rather than a single script. Static analysis names SonarQube, Semgrep and CodeQL; dynamic testing names OWASP ZAP and Burp Suite; dependency scanning names Snyk and OWASP Dependency-Check. There are sections on container and Kubernetes security, secrets through HashiCorp Vault, and supply chain work with SLSA and SBOM. Compliance covers GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, SOC 2, ISO 27001 and NIST CSF, with Policy as Code for automated checks.

The agent is pinned to the `opus` model, so every audit run costs more than a lighter model would. If you only need a quick pass over a couple of files, that is a reason to reach for something cheaper first. The description file cuts off inside the behavioral traits section, so check the repository for the full list.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Plugin marketplace**
In the agent chat (not a shell):
```text
/plugin marketplace add wshobson/agents
```
In the agent chat (not a shell):
```text
/plugin install comprehensive-review@claude-code-workflows
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.claude/agents/security-auditor.md` — For all projects use ~/.claude/agents/. Claude delegates by the description field or an @-mention

### Codex

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.codex/agents/security-auditor.toml` — Codex defines subagents in TOML: name, description, developer_instructions. Move the Markdown text into developer_instructions by hand. For all projects use ~/.codex/agents/

### Cursor

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/agents/security-auditor.md` — Cursor also reads .claude/agents/

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/wshobson/agents/tree/HEAD/plugins/comprehensive-review/agents/security-auditor.md

## When to use it
- find code flaws against the OWASP Top 10
- threat-model a new service
- review an OAuth2 implementation and JWT validation
- add dependency scanning to a CI/CD pipeline
- prepare a project for GDPR or SOC 2 requirements

## Example prompts
- run a security audit on this repo and list OWASP Top 10 issues
- build a STRIDE threat model for the auth service
- check how we implemented OAuth2 and JWT validation
